How to find us
"The lovely miss Sharon Snyder will be greeting attendees enthusiastically."
My Fellow Hikers:
NOTE: THIS IS A VERY STRENUOUS HIKE INTENDED ONLY FOR THE ATHLETICALLY FIT!
I extend my most sincere thanks to the lovely miss Sharon Snyder for stepping up to lead this fantastic event. I will serve as her Loyal Assistant.
Join Sharon Snyder on a wonderful journey to Jones Gap state Park and Caesar's Head State Park in Up-State South Carolina. There we will view several waterfalls.
Personally, I love the Caesar's Head and Jones Gap area, there are many fun and exciting Hikes to enjoy there, including this "13-mile Mega Mountain Loop" that Sharon is taking us on. We will Hike all morning, then have lunch beside a rushing mountain stream before Hiking back to the parking area. This is a group Hike, we will remain reasonablly close together and will maintain radio contact with the front and rear of the line. Although this Hike is VERY STRENUOUS it is not a speed Hike. This function is billed as a slow Hike, maximum walking speed will not exceed 2 miles per hour.
It all starts at 7:15am at the Home Depot off of Harbison Blvd. As usual meet at the upper end of the parking lot adjacent to Hooters and Applebees.
This page is for those who want to follow the Party Van or Meet us at Jones gap.
Please be on time as we will leave promptly at 7:30am. The Drive to Jones Gap State Park takes 2.25 hours. Our time on the trail will be approximately 8 hours. I estimate that we will arrive back in Columbia at about 8:00-8:30pm.
When we return, I'm quite sure everyone will be ready for dinner and drinks at Applebee's.
